Centered Riding® 's 13th Annual
International
Educational Symposium
"Centered Riding From Head to Toe"
November 7 - 9, 2008
Centered Riding’s 2008 International Educational Symposium will be held at the Red Roof Inn in Brattleboro, Vermont from November 7 – 9. The theme is “Centered Riding from Head to Toe.” Symposium presentations will concentrate on the ground work and bodywork of Centered Riding, Alexander TechniqueTM, Pilates, Feldenkrais, Balimo and some martial arts. There will be live horse and rider demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday afternoon at nearby Southmowing Stables in Guilford, Vermont.
The Saturday evening keynote speaker will be Francois Lemaire de Ruffieu, Riding Master, International Teacher and Author of “The Handbook of Riding Essentials,” and “The Handbook of Jumping Essentials.” Msr. De Ruffieu will also be one of the demonstrators on Sunday, November 9th.
New for the Symposium this year will be “By the Levels” networking” sessions. Each level of Centered Riding’s instructors (Levels I through IV), as well as the Rider and Supporting Members, will meet with their peers and have an opportunity to present problems, ask questions of each other, and share networking ideas. Each group will be moderated by a Level III or IV Instructor. After each networking session (there will be two – one on Friday evening and the second on Saturday before the keynote speaker), the moderators will bring the thoughts and questions out to the “general assembly” so that everyone can share.
As usual, Centered Riding will be conducting the Silent Auction to benefit the Sally Swift Scholarship Fund. This fund provides three grants each year to assist organizers of Centered Riding Clinics, three grants each year to assist members to attend an update clinic and new for this year – one grant to assist a member to attend the International Symposium. More information and a donor form will be soon available soon for those who wish to donate an item to the Silent Auction
